Samsung beats Chinese companies in premium smartphone segment; best-selling smartphones

The range of premium smartphones ranges from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000. Talking about smartphones shipped in the first half (six months) of 2020, premium smartphones have contributed 5 percent to it. Samsung has a market share of 37 percent in the premium segment. It had the highest market share of 19 percent of the Galaxy A71 smartphone.

Smartphone sales in India were zero in April due to the lockdown imposed in India to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. After the relaxation of the lockdown, the smartphone market has seen a boom. Speaking of premium segment smartphone shipments, Samsung has seen an increase of 18 percent in this. This claim has been made by CMR in its latest report.

At the same time, the performance of iPhone 11 has also been excellent in India. However, Apple has a market share of 56 percent in the super premium segment in India (from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000). The best selling phone in this segment is the iPhone 11.
